Amphenol Nexus Ranger Micro-Circular Connector Series

Micro-Circular Amphenol Nexus Ranger connector series’ small form factor and unique quick mating feature is perfect for worn, weight restrictive and harsh environments, supporting signal and power applications with high cycle endurance.

Meet the Ranger Series

The Ranger’s lightweight micro format footprint and push/pull - breakaway mating makes the series especially perfect for soldier systems, drones/UAVs, missiles/ordinance, C4 systems and medical/ healthcare equipment. The IP-68 rated Ranger series is also a drop-in replacement for, and compatible with, ODU interconnects.

Design and Functionality

Contact ratings include current loads from 1A to 10A and voltages up to 750V depending on configuration with electrical resistance below 5 mOhm, insulation resistance >100 mOhm. Easy-mating contacts are from 0.3mm to 2.0mm in diameter in socket or pin with PC tail or solder cup standard terminations. Overall footprint is smaller than a US penny.

Demanding Environments and Power Requirements

The Ranger connectors feature push/pull lock and breakaway functions, IP-68 & IP69K ratings, over 5,000 mating cycles, and operate from -60°F to 257°F (-51°C to +125°C). Housing options include aluminum or brass with ruthenium, nickel, or zinc nickel plating for added corrosion resistance.

Standard and High Density

While both formats share materials and mechanical attributes, standard density connectors have 3-16 contacts with voltage options up to 450V and current ratings up to 10A.  High density connectors have a 9-27 contact pattern with lower voltage and current ratings (250V and up to 5A.)

Available Configurations

The Ranger series features standard, combination and high-density contact configurations. High current capacity with up to 27 contacts in various shell sizes and high-speed USB options available. An industry-exclusive PCB tail configuration terminates directly onto PC boards, eliminating end-user mistakes at an extremely attractive price.
